Trip Class and Motor Protection
The 3RV1011-0JA20-ZW97: Rated CLASS 10, this breaker will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting. That matches the standard protection requirement for standard squirrel-cage induction motors during a locked-rotor condition. Phase failure detection is built in — the breaker will open if one phase drops out, preventing single-phasing damage.
Breaking Capacity and Selectivity
The 100 kA breaking capacity holds across the full voltage range: 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V AC. That is a flat high-fault curve, not a derated one at higher voltages. For a panel designer, this means the breaker can be used downstream of a transformer or in a high-fault location without needing a current-limiting upstream device in most configurations.
Mounting and Clearance
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. Zero clearance required at the sides and rear — the breaker can be butted directly against adjacent devices and the panel backplate. Front face carries an IP20 rating, so finger-safe when installed in an enclosure. Any mounting position is permitted.
Termination and Wiring
Main circuit terminals are spring-loaded, accepting solid conductors 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) or finely stranded with ferrule 2x (0.25... 1.5 mm²). AWG equivalents are 2x (24... 14). No screw torque to verify — spring-clamp termination is vibration-resistant and consistent across temperature cycles.
Environmental and Mechanical
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. Shock rated at 25g for 11 ms. Maximum operating altitude is 2 000 m without derating. Mechanical endurance is 100 000 cycles on the main contacts.
