What this 1 A motor protection breaker does — and what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens 3RV1011-0JA20-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker sized for a 0.25 kW motor at 400 V three-phase. Its 1 A continuous current rating sets the thermal pickup threshold — wire it into a motor branch that draws under 1 A full-load, and the Class 10 trip curve will clear a locked-rotor condition within 10 seconds at 7.2× Ie, matching IEC 60947-4-1 requirements for standard induction motor starts. The 100 kA breaking capacity holds across the entire voltage range from 240 V to 690 V AC (–), so it interrupts a hard fault without cascading upstream in a panel with a 100 kA available fault current. Phase failure detection is built in — it trips on a lost phase before the motor single-phases to failure.
Mounting and wiring — DIN-rail snap-on with spring-clamp terminations
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, in any orientation. The 45 mm width takes one standard modular device slot — panel layout stays tight. Main and auxiliary circuits both terminate through spring-loaded terminals, accepting 2x (0.25…2.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.25…1.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrules. No screw torque to verify, no re-tightening on thermal cycling. The 90 mm height and 81 mm depth leave clearance behind a 120 mm deep enclosure door.
