The Siemens 3RV1011-0KA10-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed to protect motors against overload and short-circuit. It has a Class 10 trip characteristic, meaning it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2x the thermal setting—fast enough for standard induction motor starts that don't drag. Rated for 0.2 kW at 230 V and 1 hp at 460/480 V, it covers small motor loads common on pumps and conveyors. The interrupting rating hits 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, and 500 V, dropping to 2 kA at 690 V. That 100 kA SCCR at 400 V means it can safely clear a fault up to that level without upstream fuses needing to act—critical for panel SCCR compliance under UL 508A. At 690 V the 2 kA rating still covers most industrial line-to-line faults. Mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 via screw and snap-on fastening; any mounting position works. The 45 mm width fits standard 45 mm slot spacing in most enclosures. Depth is 75 mm, height 90 mm.
Clearance and backup fuse requirements
Clearance distances: 20 mm upwards and downwards, 9 mm at the side, 0 mm forwards and backwards. That zero forward clearance means it can sit flush against a panel door or gland plate without extra breathing space. Backup fuse depends on line voltage: none required at 240 V, gL/gG 20 A at 400 V, gL/gG 16 A at 500 V and 690 V. If the available fault current exceeds the breaker's 2 kA at 690 V, the 16 A gL/gG fuse upstream ensures coordinated interruption.
Termination and environmental limits
Main circuit terminals are M3 screw-type, accepting 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. Operating temperature range -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport -50 to +80 °C. Maximum switching frequency 15 operations per hour in AC-3 and AC-3e duty. Phase failure detection is built in; ground fault detection is not. The voltage range is 20 to 690 V AC.
