What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV1011-0KA25 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor protection, sized for a 1.25 A continuous current rating and a 0.37 kW motor at 400 V AC. It trips Class 10, meaning it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× the set current — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal start-up.
Breaking capacity and fault clearing
Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, and 500 V AC, dropping to 2 kA at 690 V AC. That 100 kA figure at 400 V means it can safely interrupt a high-fault-current event up to that level without welding contacts or cascading upstream — common in industrial panels fed by large transformers.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Width is 45 mm, depth 81 mm, height 90 mm — fits a standard 45 mm-wide DIN slot. Spring-loaded terminals on both main and auxiliary/control circuits accept 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or 2x (24... 14) AWG. Zero clearance needed at the side or backwards, so you can pack units tight on the rail.
Environmental and protection ratings
IP20 on the front — finger-safe but not washdown-rated. Operating temperature range -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport -50 to +80 °C. Shock resistance 25g / 11 ms. Mounting position any, which simplifies panel layout.
Lifecycle and sourcing
Listed as current production — no phase-out or last-time-buy notice on record. Phase failure detection is built in; ground fault detection is not. The auxiliary switch is transverse and field-addable. For RoHS compliance, the substance prohibition date is 01.01.2013 (RoHS 2 effective). Sourced and quoted to order against an RFQ through independent distribution; availability and current pricing confirmed at quote time.
