Motor protection circuit breaker for panel integration
The Siemens 3RV1011-1BA10-ZW98 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor protection, with screw-type terminals for the main current circuit and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. Its 45 mm width and 75 mm depth fit standard panel layouts, and the mounting position is any orientation, simplifying enclosure layout. Trip Class 10 means it clears overloads within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during start-up without nuisance tripping on normal acceleration.
Short-circuit and coordination ratings
Rated short-circuit breaking capacity reaches 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, and 500 V — sufficient for high-fault-current industrial panels without requiring upstream current-limiting fuses in many configurations. At 690 V the SCCR is 2 kA. For backup fuse coordination, the evidence specifies gL/gG 35 A at 400 V and gL/gG 25 A at 500 V and 690 V — no fuse required at 240 V.
Integration notes for the panel builder
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail (DIN EN 60715). Minimum clearance: 20 mm upward, 20 mm downward, 9 mm at the side; no clearance needed forward or backward. Terminal capacity accepts 2× (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded copper; screw-type terminals for the main circuit use M3 screws. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C.
