SIRIUS 3RV1011-1CA15-0BA0 — motor-protective circuit breaker, 2.5 A, Class 10
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-1CA15-0BA0 is a motor-protective circuit breaker rated for 2.5 A continuous current, with a thermal overload release and magnetic short-circuit trip — the thermal element handles sustained overloads, the magnetic element clears faults fast enough to protect downstream contactors and cables. Trip Class 10 means it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× the current setting, which is the standard for standard-duty induction motor starting — adequate for most pump, fan, and conveyor applications where the start-up transient doesn't exceed that window. Rated short-circuit breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 240 V and 400 V AC, then derates to 10 kA at 500 V and 2 kA at 690 V — the 100 kA figure covers the common 400 V distribution level, so it coordinates with most panelboard bus bracing without an upstream current-limiting fuse. Phase failure detection trips the breaker if one phase drops out. No ground-fault detection on this variant.
Mounting and wiring
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022 — the 45 mm width takes one standard 45 mm module position. Screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits; the main circuit accepts 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²) stranded per pole. Zero clearance required at the sides and rear — you can butt adjacent devices directly. IP20 on the front means finger-safe from the panel face but not protected against dust ingress inside the enclosure. Operating temperature range -50 to +60 °C; storage and transport -50 to +80 °C. Shock rated at 25g / 11 ms. Mount in any orientation.
Auxiliary switch and control circuit
This variant includes a factory-fitted auxiliary switch, transverse design, with switching capacity rated at 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 230 V, and 0.15 A at 60 V — enough to signal a PLC input or drop out a holding contactor. Rated insulation voltage 20…690 V, covering low-voltage control circuits up to 690 V line-to-line. Power dissipation 7.25 W in hot operating state at AC — factor that into enclosure thermal calculations if the panel is densely packed.
