The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-1CA20-ZW95 is a motor protection circuit breaker rated for 2.5 A continuous current, sized for a 0.75 kW motor at 400 V. Its CLASS 10 trip characteristic means it will disconnect within 10 seconds under a locked-rotor condition — fast enough to protect standard induction motors from overheating during a stall.
Breaking capacity and coordination
At 400 V AC this breaker interrupts fault currents up to 100 kA, which covers most industrial panel SCCR requirements. At 690 V the breaking capacity drops to 2 kA — still adequate for a motor branch circuit on a 690 V system, but coordination with an upstream fuse or MCCB needs to account for that lower ceiling.
Mounting and wiring
Snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, 45 mm wide — takes one standard 9 mm pitch. Spring-loaded terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept 0.25 to 2.5 mm² solid or stranded wire, or 0.25 to 1.5 mm² finely stranded with ferrule. No screwdriver needed for termination; strip length is 8 mm for a clean connection.
