Motor protection circuit breaker, 2.5 A, CLASS 10 — SIRIUS 3RV1011-1CA20-ZW96
The Siemens 3RV1011-1CA20-ZW96 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 2.5 A continuous current, sized for a 0.75 kW motor at 400 V AC. The CLASS 10 trip class means it will open within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starts. Three poles for the main current circuit, with spring-loaded terminals accepting 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.25... 1.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrule. Phase failure detection is built in — the breaker will trip if one phase drops out, preventing single-phasing damage to the motor. Breaking capacity is 100 kA at 240 V and 400 V AC, derating to 10 kA at 500 V and 2 kA at 690 V. That 100 kA at 400 V means it can be used on high-fault panels without requiring upstream current-limiting fuses in most industrial distributions.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. Width is 45 mm, depth 81 mm, height 90 mm. The 0 mm clearance required at the back and sides means it can be packed tight against adjacent devices — no derating for side-by-side mounting in a standard enclosure. Front face carries IP20 protection — safe for finger contact in a closed panel. Ambient operating range is -20 to +60 °C, storage and transport from -50 to +80 °C. Shock rated at 25g for 11 ms, any mounting position accepted.
