The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-1DA20-ZW98 is a 3-pole motor protection circuit breaker rated for 3.2 A continuous current with a Class 10 trip characteristic. It delivers 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC, so it can interrupt high fault currents without upstream fuses in most panel designs. The spring-loaded terminals accept 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors, which covers the typical control and power wiring for a 1.1 kW motor at 400 V.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 81 mm depth fit a standard 8-module enclosure row. Zero clearance at the back and sides means no extra spacing between units on the rail. Any mounting position is permitted, so horizontal or vertical rail orientation is fine.
Electrical ratings and trip behavior
Class 10 trip means the breaker opens within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting, which protects standard induction motors during locked-rotor starts. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on the line side will trip the breaker. Rated operating voltage is 690 V AC, with breaking capacity derating to 3 kA at 500 V and 2 kA at 690 V. The surge voltage withstand is 6 kV, adequate for solidly grounded 400 V systems.
