Motor protection circuit breaker, 3.2 A, CLASS 10 — panel integration note
The Siemens 3RV1011-1DA25 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 3.2 A continuous current with a CLASS 10 trip characteristic, meaning it clears overloads fast enough to protect standard induction motors during start-up without nuisance tripping. It snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022 and accepts spring-loaded terminals for the main circuit — solid or stranded 0.25 to 2.5 mm² (2x). The 45 mm width and 81 mm depth fit standard panel layouts; the IP20 front keeps live parts behind the enclosure door.
Breaking capacity and fault handling
Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 240 V and 400 V AC, dropping to 3 kA at 500 V and 2 kA at 690 V. That 100 kA figure at 400 V means this breaker can interrupt a high-fault-current bolted short circuit without upstream devices needing to clear it — useful for panels fed by large transformers. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase trips the breaker before the motor single-phases to a stall. No ground fault detection on this variant.
Electrical endurance and switching frequency
The main contacts are rated for 100,000 typical electrical operations under AC load. Maximum switching frequency in AC-3 duty is 15 operations per hour — enough for a conveyor start/stop cycle but not for a rapid-reversing application. Power dissipation at rated current in hot operating state is 7.25 W, so factor that into enclosure thermal calculations if the panel is densely packed.
Environmental and mounting flexibility
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range extends to -50 to +80 °C. Mounting position is any orientation — no derating needed for horizontal or vertical panel placement. Shock resistance is 25g for 11 ms, which covers most industrial vibration environments. Maximum operating altitude is 2,000 m without derating.
