What this breaker does in the panel
The Siemens 3RV1011-1FA20-ZW98 is a 3-pole SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 5 A continuous current with CLASS 10 trip characteristic — meaning it protects motor circuits against overload and short-circuit, tripping fast enough for standard induction motors up to 1.5 kW at 400 V. It breaks up to 100 kA at 400 V, so it handles high-fault-current panels without needing an upstream fuse for SCCR compliance. Phase failure detection is built in; ground fault detection is not. The main circuit uses spring-loaded terminals accepting 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.25... 1.5 mm²) fine-stranded with ferrule, AWG 24–14. No auxiliary contacts are fitted on this variant.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022; any mounting position works. The 45 mm width and 90 mm height fit a standard 4-module slot; depth is 81 mm. Zero clearance needed at the sides or rear — 0 mm backwards and 0 mm at the side — so you can pack breakers tight in a row. Front face is IP20.
