The Siemens 3RV1011-1GA20 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 6.3 A continuous current, with a Trip Class 10 characteristic that clears overloads before the motor insulation degrades — essential for standard three-phase induction motors up to 2.2 kW at 400 V. It breaks 100 kA at 400 V AC, so it handles high-fault-current panels without cascading upstream breakers. Phase failure detection is built in, which means a lost phase trips the breaker instead of letting the motor single-phase and burn.
Mounting and wiring
Screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm standard DIN rail per EN 50022. The spring-loaded terminals on the main and auxiliary circuits accept 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or finely stranded wire, or 2x (24 to 14 AWG). No backwards clearance needed — zero mm behind the unit — so it fits tight against the backplane. Width is 45 mm, height 90 mm, depth 81 mm. Any mounting position is allowed.
Breaking capacity and environment
Breaking capacity varies with voltage: 100 kA at 240 V and 400 V AC, then drops to 3 kA at 500 V and 2 kA at 690 V. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. Front-side IP20 protection and finger-safe touch protection meet standard panel safety requirements. Surge voltage resistance rated at 6000 V. Power dissipation at rated current in hot state is 7.25 W total, 2.4 W per pole.
