What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV1011-1GA20-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 6.3 A continuous current with a CLASS 10 trip characteristic, meaning it trips fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event before the winding insulation degrades. It's a 3-pole device for the main circuit, designed specifically for motor protection — not just branch-circuit fault protection — and includes phase failure detection so a single-phased motor won't cook while the breaker holds. Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V AC, which covers most industrial service-entrance and distribution panel fault levels without needing an upstream current-limiting fuse.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022 — standard panel integration, no adapter needed. Main and auxiliary/control circuits both terminate with spring-loaded terminals; the main circuit accepts 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.25... 1.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrule. Dimensions are 45 mm wide, 90 mm high, 81 mm deep — fits a standard 45 mm module slot on the rail, leaving room for adjacent contactors or overloads in the motor starter stack.
