What it is and where it fits
The 3RV1011-1HA10-ZW95 is a Siemens SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker — designed specifically for motor protection, not just branch-circuit overcurrent. It screws or snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, so it lands in any standard panel without special brackets. The ZW95 suffix is a special version identifier; the base mechanicals and ratings match the standard 3RV1011-1HA10 footprint. Width is 45 mm, depth is 75 mm, height is 90 mm — same slot as any 3RV10 frame, so it drops into an existing panel layout without re-drilling.
Breaking capacity and trip class — what they mean for the line
Rated short-circuit breaking capacity is 100 kA at 240 V, dropping to 13 kA at 400 V, 3 kA at 500 V, and 2 kA at 690 V. That 100 kA at 240 V means it can sit downstream of a transformer with high fault current without needing a current-limiting upstream breaker — useful in retrofit panels where the available fault current wasn't originally calculated tight. Trip Class 10 means it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting. That's the standard for standard motor start profiles — not too fast to nuisance-trip on a normal start, fast enough to protect the motor winding on a locked rotor. Phase failure detection is built in — no separate phase-loss relay needed. If one phase drops, the breaker trips even if the current on the remaining phases stays below the overload threshold. That saves a control-wiring step and one DIN slot.
Mounting and wiring
Mounting position is any — vertical, horizontal, upside-down in a tight enclosure — the thermal and magnetic trip elements work the same. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2×(0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2×(0.75…2.5 mm²). Main contact screws are M3. Clearance spacing: 20 mm above and below, 9 mm at the sides, zero forwards or backwards. That 9 mm side gap is tighter than some breakers — you can pack these on a DIN rail with minimal air between units, which matters when you're squeezing a motor control center into a compact footprint.
