SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker, size S00
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-1HA15-ZI45 is a motor protection circuit breaker in the compact S00 frame, designed to protect 3-phase induction motors up to 8 A full-load current. Its CLASS 10 trip class means it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current — fast enough to protect a motor winding during a stall or locked-rotor event without nuisance-tripping on normal starting inrush. The adjustable overload release is set via a dial from 5.5 A to 8 A, letting you match the breaker to the motor nameplate FLA without swapping hardware. Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any orientation. The S00 footprint (45 mm wide) fits standard panel layouts and leaves room for adjacent contactors in a motor starter stack. Screw-type terminals on top and bottom accept solid or stranded copper up to 2.5 mm².
Overload and short-circuit protection in one device
This breaker combines a thermal bimetal overload release (CLASS 10) with a magnetic instantaneous short-circuit trip set at 104 A. The thermal element protects against sustained overloads and phase-loss conditions; the magnetic element clears a bolted fault at 104 A without waiting for the thermal curve. At 400 V AC the unit is rated for 3,000 W motor output, and the switching capacity at 400 V is 50 kA (per the SIRIUS family rating for this size). Power dissipation is 9.25 W total in hot operating state, 3.1 W per pole — relevant for enclosure thermal calculations when grouping multiple breakers in a panel.
