The Siemens 3RV1011-1JA10-ZW96 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed to protect motor circuits against overloads and short circuits. It carries a Trip Class 10 rating, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — standard for general-purpose motor starting where the inrush is brief. The interrupting capacity is 100 kA at 240 V and 13 kA at 400 V, giving it headroom for high-fault panels without cascading upstream breakers. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on a three-phase motor will trip the breaker rather than let the motor single-phase and burn.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The 45 mm width and 75 mm depth fit a standard 45 mm-wide module slot — that's another SKU I don't need to re-space for. Mounting position is any, so it works in vertical or horizontal panels. The main circuit uses screw-type terminals accepting 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, sized for typical motor-circuit conductors.
