Motor-protective circuit breaker for 4 kW loads
The Siemens 3RV1011-1JA15-0BA0 is a SIRIUS motor-protective circuit breaker rated for 10 A continuous current with CLASS 10 trip characteristic, sized for a 4 kW motor at 400 V AC. It combines a thermal overload release for sustained overcurrent and a magnetic short-circuit trip for fault clearing, with phase-failure detection built in.
Rated breaking capacity reaches 100 kA at 240 V AC, 50 kA at 400 V AC, 3 kA at 500 V AC, and 2 kA at 690 V AC.
The transverse auxiliary switch is rated 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 230 V, and 0.15 A at 60 V. These are the switching capacities for the control circuit — useful when sizing the contact load for a PLC input or relay coil. Terminal wiring accepts solid or stranded conductors: 2x 0.5…1.5 mm² or 2x 0.75…2.5 mm², with AWG 18…14 equivalents for the main contacts.
