What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-1JK15-0AA1 is a motor-protective circuit breaker rated for 10 A continuous current. It combines a thermal overload release (for sustained overcurrent) with a magnetic short-circuit trip (for fault clearing), and includes phase failure detection. The 100 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC means it can safely interrupt a high-fault-current event without upstream damage — critical for panels where the available fault current is high. At 400 V AC the breaking capacity is still 50 kA, and at 690 V it drops to 2 kA, so the voltage class of the installation governs the SCCR coordination.
Mounting and integration
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, and can be mounted in any position. The 45 mm width and 90 mm height fit a standard 4-module slot in a distribution board; depth is 81 mm — check gland-plate clearance if the enclosure is shallow. Screw-type terminals on both the main and auxiliary circuits accept solid conductors 2x (0.5 … 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 … 2.5 mm²), and stranded the same. Zero clearance needed at the back or sides — the breaker can be packed tight against adjacent devices.
Auxiliary switch and control ratings
The auxiliary switch is transverse design and can be extended with an additional switch module. Contact ratings: 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 230 V, and 0.15 A at 60 V — these are the switching currents for the control circuit, not the main power path. The rated voltage range for the main circuit is 20 … 690 V AC, and the maximum operating frequency in AC-3 duty is 15 operations per hour. Surge voltage resistance is 6 kV.
Environmental and compliance
Operating temperature range is -20 … +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 … +80 °C. Shock resistance is 25 g for 11 ms. Front-side protection is IP20 — suitable for enclosed panels, not for washdown. The part is RoHS compliant with a substance prohibition date of 01/01/2013. No ground fault detection is built in.
