What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-1KA15 is a motor-protective circuit breaker with a CLASS 10 trip characteristic. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any orientation, so it fits into a standard motor control center or panel without special bracketry.
Breaking capacity and motor rating
The interrupting rating hits 100 kA at 240 V, dropping to 13 kA at 400 V, 3 kA at 500 V, and 2 kA at 690 V — this tells you the maximum fault current the breaker can safely clear at each voltage level, which is the key figure for SCCR coordination in the panel. Motor full-load current rating is 2 hp at 230 V, which corresponds to roughly 12 A at 480 V and 12 A at 600 V — the breaker's thermal element is sized for that motor FLA range.
Panel integration and wiring
Dimensions: 45 mm wide × 90 mm tall × 75 mm deep, with 20 mm clearance required above and below, 9 mm at the sides, and zero forwards/backwards — this is the minimum free space around the breaker for heat dissipation and arc-fault containment. Main contact terminals accept 2× (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded copper, terminated with M3 screws — standard for panel wiring up to 2.5 mm².
