Motor protection circuit breaker for 0.09 kW loads
The Siemens 3RV1021-0DA10 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 0.32 A continuous current and 0.09 kW at 400 V. Ground fault detection is not included — that function is handled separately upstream or by a downstream RCD. Breaking capacity is 100 kA across the board at 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V AC. That is a high-interrupting rating for a 0.32 A device, giving selectivity headroom in a distribution panel without needing a current-limiting upstream breaker.
Any mounting position is allowed. Screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept solid or stranded conductors: 2× (1 to 2.5 mm²) and 2× (2.5 to 6 mm²) per clamp, or AWG 14 to 10. The IP20 front protection and finger-safe touch protection mean it can be installed in open panels without additional shrouding.
Thermal and environmental limits
This matters for enclosure thermal rise calculations — in a sealed panel with multiple breakers, the cumulative heat can derate adjacent devices. Shock resistance is 25 g for 11 ms, suitable for machine-mounted applications with moderate vibration. Rated impulse withstand voltage is 6 kV, and the maximum operating voltage is 690 V AC. The maximum switching frequency under AC-3 duty is 15 operations per hour — adequate for motor starting cycles but not for high-speed jogging applications.
