The Siemens 3RV1021-0DA15-ZW98 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker for overload and short-circuit protection. It carries a 0.32 A rated continuous current and a CLASS 10 trip characteristic. The unit includes phase failure detection.
Breaking capacity and panel fit
With 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC — and the same 100 kA all the way up to 690 V AC — this breaker handles high available fault current without needing an upstream current-limiting fuse. That 100 kA rating holds at 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V, so it is consistent across common industrial supply voltages. Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 97 mm height fit a standard motor-starter footprint; depth is 96 mm including the terminals. The front face carries IP20 protection, so it is safe for finger-probe access inside an enclosed panel.
Termination and wiring
Screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits. The main circuit accepts solid conductors from 2× (0.5... 1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75... 2.5 mm²) and stranded from 2× (1... 2.5 mm²) or 2× (2.5... 6 mm²). AWG equivalents for the main contacts are 2× (14... 10). The auxiliary switch is a transverse design and is field-installable — the product extension for an auxiliary switch is supported. No ground-fault detection built in, so if that is needed, plan for an external module.
