SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker, 0.4 A, CLASS 10
The Siemens 3RV1021-0EA15-ZW97 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor protection, rated at 0.4 A continuous current with a CLASS 10 trip characteristic. It provides phase failure detection and delivers a breaking capacity of 100 kA across AC voltages from 240 V to 690 V, meaning it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream — critical for selectivity coordination in a motor branch circuit.
Panel integration and mounting
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. Dimensions are 45 mm wide, 97 mm tall, 96 mm deep — a standard 45 mm footprint that fits a typical motor starter row alongside a contactor. Any mounting position is permitted, and the front face carries IP20 protection (finger-safe).
Termination and wiring
Main and auxiliary/control circuits use screw-type terminals. Solid conductors accepted: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) and 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). Stranded: 2x (1 to 2.5 mm²) and 2x (2.5 to 6 mm²). AWG equivalents for main contacts: 2x (14 to 10). The auxiliary switch is transverse design and the product extension for auxiliary switch is available.
Environmental and mechanical ratings
Operates from -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. Shock resistance: 25g for 11 ms. Power dissipation in hot operating state under AC conditions: 5.5 W. Maximum operating frequency in AC-3 duty: 15 operations per hour.
Lifecycle and compliance
Listed as current production (active lifecycle stage). Substance prohibition date per RoHS/REACH compliance: 01.05.2012, indicating the part meets the EU substance restrictions effective from that date. No ground fault detection; phase failure detection is included.
