Motor protection circuit breaker, 1 A, CLASS 10, 100 kA
The Siemens 3RV1021-0JA10-ZW96 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for 3-phase motor loads. It carries a continuous rated current of 1 A and a CLASS 10 trip characteristic, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect a standard induction motor during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal startup. The breaker is rated for a 0.25 kW motor at 400 V and offers a 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC, which safely interrupts fault currents up to that level without upstream fuses needing to clear first. Phase failure detection is built in; ground fault detection is not.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 97 mm height with 96 mm depth fit a standard 45 mm module slot on the DIN rail — no overhang at the sides or backwards. Screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary/control circuits accept solid or stranded conductors: 2× (1 … 2.5 mm²) and 2× (2.5 … 6 mm²), or AWG 14–10 for main contacts. An auxiliary switch can be added. Mounting position is any.
