Motor protection circuit breaker, 2.5 A, Trip Class 10
The Siemens 3RV1021-1CA15-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 2.5 A continuous current and 0.75 kW at 400 V AC-3 duty, with a Trip Class 10 thermal overload curve. It's designed for motor protection in control panels, with screw-type terminals for main and auxiliary circuits. The unit mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, and the front face carries IP20 protection.
Breaking capacity and coordination
Breaking capacity reaches 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, and 500 V AC, dropping to 8 kA at 690 V AC. That 100 kA at 400 V means it can interrupt high fault currents typical in industrial distribution without upstream devices needing to clear the fault — useful for Type 2 coordination with contactors downstream. The 8 kA at 690 V still covers most motor branch circuits at that voltage level.
Lifecycle and sourcing
This part carries a current production lifecycle status. It's sourced and quoted to order against an RFQ through independent distribution channels; availability and current pricing are confirmed at quote time. The RoHS compliance date is 01.05.2012, meaning it meets the EU RoHS directive for substances of concern.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts in any position on 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, with zero clearance needed at the sides or rear. Main circuit terminals accept solid conductors 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²) and 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²), or stranded 2x (1...2.5 mm²) and 2x (2.5...6 mm²). Auxiliary and control circuit terminals are also screw-type. The auxiliary switch is transverse design and field-installable.
Environmental and operational limits
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, storage and transport range -50 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 25 g for 11 ms. The unit has phase failure detection but no ground fault detection. Power dissipation in hot operating state is 7.25 W at rated current.
