What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1021-1EA10-ZW96 is a 3-pole motor protection circuit breaker rated for 4 A continuous current with a Class 10 trip characteristic, sized for a 1.5 kW motor at 400 V AC. It provides phase failure detection and has a breaking capacity of 100 kA at 400 V AC, dropping to 6 kA at 690 V AC — meaning it can handle heavy fault currents on a standard 400 V distribution system without needing an upstream fuse for most installations.
Mounting and wiring
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, or screws directly to a panel. Front IP20 protection keeps live terminals out of accidental contact during panel work. Screw terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept 1–2.5 mm² solid or stranded (2x) and 2.5–6 mm² (2x), with AWG 14–10 equivalents for the main contacts. Dimensions are 45 mm wide, 97 mm high, 96 mm deep — fits a standard 45 mm module slot on the rail. Zero clearance needed at the back or sides for ventilation.
