Motor protection circuit breaker, 6.3 A, CLASS 10 — SIRIUS 3RV1021-1GA10-ZW96
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1021-1GA10-ZW96 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor loads up to 2.2 kW at 400 V AC. Its 6.3 A continuous current rating and CLASS 10 trip characteristic mean it protects standard induction motors against overload and short-circuit, tripping fast enough to keep the motor winding below its thermal limit during a stall or jam. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on the line side will trip the breaker rather than letting the motor single-phase and overheat. Breaking capacity is 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, and 500 V AC, dropping to 6 kA at 690 V AC. That 100 kA figure at 400 V means this breaker can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without rupturing — important for panels with high available fault current from large transformers. The 690 V rating is lower but still covers most 690 V motor circuits where the fault current is typically lower. Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. Width is 45 mm, depth 96 mm, height 97 mm. Zero clearance needed at the sides or rear, so it can be packed tight in a panel. Screw terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (1 … 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (2.5 … 6 mm²). Rated operational voltage is 690 V, with surge voltage resistance of 6,000 V. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 25 g for 11 ms. Mechanical endurance of the main contacts is 100,000 operations typical. Power dissipation at rated current in hot operating state is 7.25 W total, 2.4 W per pole.
