Its 8 A continuous rated current and Class 10 trip characteristic mean it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2x the current setting, matching the thermal curve of standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event. Breaking capacity is 100 kA at 400 V AC, dropping to 42 kA at 500 V and 6 kA at 690 V. At 240 V it still holds 100 kA. That 100 kA figure at 400 V means this breaker can be used on high-fault-capacity industrial networks without needing upstream current-limiting fuses for most installations.
Any mounting position allowed. Zero clearance needed at the back or sides, so it can sit tight against other components on the rail. Accepts solid or stranded wire: 2x (1…2.5 mm²) or 2x (2.5…6 mm²). AWG equivalents 14…10. The auxiliary switch extension is supported — the product has provision for adding one.
RoHS compliance date is 1 May 2012, so it meets the EU RoHS directive for new installations.
Environmental and electrical ratings
Shock resistance rated at 25g for 11 ms. Maximum operating frequency under AC-3 duty is 15 operations per hour. Front protection is IP20 — finger-safe from the front, but the terminals are not sealed against dust or moisture. No ground fault detection.
