SIRIUS 3RV1021-1KA10 — Motor-Protective Circuit Breaker, 12.5 A, CLASS 10
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1021-1KA10 is a motor-protective circuit breaker designed for 3-phase motor branch circuits. It carries a continuous current rating of 12.5 A and a CLASS 10 trip characteristic, meaning it opens within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current — fast enough to protect standard induction motors against locked-rotor conditions without nuisance tripping on normal starting inrush. Breaking capacity is 100 kA at 400 V AC, dropping to 42 kA at 500 V and 6 kA at 690 V. The 45 mm width (3-module) footprint and any mounting position make it straightforward to integrate into existing motor control center layouts or standalone enclosures.
Main and auxiliary/control circuits both use screw-type terminals. The main circuit accepts solid or stranded conductors: 2× (1…2.5 mm²) and 2× (2.5…6 mm²). Finely stranded with core-end processing follows the same cross-section range. Zero backward clearance requirement simplifies panel layout — no extra space needed behind the DIN rail for terminal access. Ground fault detection is not included; that function is handled separately by a residual-current device if required. An auxiliary switch can be added via the product extension slot.
Shock resistance rated at 25g for 11 ms. IP20 finger-safe touch protection on the front — suitable for enclosed panels where operators may open the door for inspection.
