The 3RV1021-4DA10-ZW97: The 25 A continuous rating sets the maximum motor FLA it can protect — pair it with a motor drawing up to that nameplate current. The 11 kW at 400 V figure gives you the typical 3-phase induction motor size this breaker covers at that voltage.
Breaking capacity and fault clearing
Rated breaking capacity is 100 kA at 240 V AC, 50 kA at 400 V AC, 10 kA at 500 V AC, and 4 kA at 690 V AC. At the common 400 V supply, the 50 kA SCCR means it can interrupt a fault up to that level without upstream fuses needing to clear — useful for high-capacity distribution panels where available fault current is substantial. The 6 000 V rated surge voltage resistance (impulse withstand) means it holds off transients common in industrial environments without flashover between phases or to ground.
Trip class and motor protection features
Class 10 trip means the breaker opens within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — standard for standard-duty induction motors starting under load. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on the line side will trip the breaker, protecting the motor from single-phasing. Ground fault detection is not included on this variant (the ZW97 suffix indicates a special version without that function). If ground-fault protection is required, a separate module or a different breaker from the 3RV2 family would be needed.
Physical integration and wiring
Width is 45 mm (3 module spaces on a DIN rail), depth 96 mm, height 97 mm. Mounting position is any orientation. Screw terminals for main and auxiliary circuits accept 2x (1 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (2.5 to 6 mm²) — typical for motor branch circuits up to 6 mm² (roughly 10 AWG). IP20 on the front means finger-safe from the panel front; the breaker is intended for installation inside an enclosure. The 0 mm backwards clearance and 0 mm side clearance mean it can be mounted flush against adjacent devices or the panel wall.
Environmental and compliance
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 25 g for 11 ms. RoHS compliance date is 01.05.2012 (substance prohibition per EU directive).
