The Siemens 3RV1031-4EA10-ZW97 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 32 A continuous current and 15 kW at 400 V AC-3 duty, with a Class 10 trip curve. The IP20 front means it's safe for finger contact in an enclosed cabinet — no special shrouding needed.
Breaking capacity and fault handling
Breaking capacity scales with line voltage: 100 kA at 240 V AC, 50 kA at 400 V AC, 10 kA at 500 V AC, and 4 kA at 690 V AC. At a typical 400 V industrial supply, 50 kA SCCR covers most distribution panels without upstream fusing. No ground fault detection on this variant, so if you need that, look at the GF versions in the same frame.
Wiring and termination
Main circuit terminals accept solid conductors up to 2x 16 mm² or stranded up to 2x 25 mm² (single conductor up to 35 mm²). Auxiliary and control circuit connections use separate screw-type terminals. The box-terminal design on the main circuit gives a solid mechanical clamp — no ring terminals required, but ferrules on stranded wire are always cleaner. Depth is 149 mm, width 55 mm, height 140 mm, with zero clearance needed at the back or sides, so it fits tight enclosures.
