Motor Protection Circuit Breaker for 22 kW Loads
The Siemens 3RV1041-4HA15 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 50 A continuous current and 22 kW at 400 V AC-3 duty, meaning it directly protects a 22 kW three-phase motor at 400 V line voltage. No ground-fault detection is included, so downstream ground-fault protection must be handled separately if required.
Rated breaking capacity reaches 100 kA at 240 V AC, 50 kA at 400 V AC, 12 kA at 500 V AC, and 6 kA at 690 V AC (–). At 400 V, the 50 kA SCCR covers most industrial panel bus faults without cascading upstream — useful when coordinating with a 65 kA or 100 kA main breaker. The 6 kA at 690 V still clears a fault on 690 V drives or mining equipment.
Dimensions are 70 mm wide, 165 mm high, 174 mm deep — occupies three 18 mm DIN modules plus a bit. Zero clearance required at the sides or rear, so it fits tightly against adjacent devices in a crowded panel. Front IP20 protects against accidental finger contact.
Main circuit terminals accept screw-type box terminals: stranded 2× (10–50 mm²) or 1× (10–70 mm²). Auxiliary and control circuit terminals accept solid 2× (0.5–1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75–2.5 mm²). AWG equivalents for main contacts are 2× (10–1 AWG) or 1× (10–2 AWG). The auxiliary switch is transverse design and the breaker supports an auxiliary switch extension.
