Motor Protection Circuit Breaker for 100 A Lines
Breaking capacity steps down with voltage: 100 kA at 240 V AC, 50 kA at 400 V AC, 8 kA at 500 V AC, and 5 kA at 690 V AC. Solid wire accepts 2x (2.5 to 16 mm²); stranded accepts 2x (10 to 50 mm²) or 1x (10 to 70 mm²). That covers most motor feeder cables up to 100 A without adapters. Finger-safe touch protection (IP20 on the front) keeps panel builders from accidental contact during commissioning.
Backwards and side clearance is 0 mm — no gap needed behind or beside the breaker, which simplifies panel layout when packing multiple breakers on a rail. Shock rated to 25g for 11 ms, so it holds up in applications with moderate vibration (conveyor drives, pump skids). Power dissipation in hot operating state is 44 W total, 14.7 W per pole.
Substance prohibition per RoHS date of July 1, 2006. Surge voltage resistance rated at 6,000 V. The auxiliary switch product extension is available (screw-type terminals for control circuit). Operating frequency at AC-3 is 15 operations per hour maximum — not a high-cycling device, so don't spec it for a rapid-reversing application.
