Motor Protection Circuit Breaker for 100 A Lines
The Siemens 3RV1041-4MA10-ZW95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current and 45 kW at 400 V, with a Class 10 trip characteristic. The three-pole design includes phase failure detection and finger-safe touch protection on the front, with IP20 rating on the front face.
The main circuit uses screw-type box terminals accepting solid 2x (2.5 to 16 mm²) or stranded 2x (10 to 50 mm²) and 1x (10 to 70 mm²). Auxiliary and control circuits also use screw terminals. Fine-stranded wire with end processing goes up to 2x (2.5 to 35 mm²) or 2.5 to 50 mm².
Rated breaking capacity drops with voltage: 100 kA at 240 V, 50 kA at 400 V, 8 kA at 500 V, and 5 kA at 690 V AC. The 44 W power loss in hot operating state (14.7 W per pole) matters for enclosure thermal calculations when several units are ganged.
