Motor circuit breaker for starter combinations
The Siemens 3RV1342-4BC10 is a SIRIUS-brand circuit breaker designed specifically for starter combinations — it integrates motor protection and disconnection in one unit, sized for a 7.5 kW motor at 400 V. Rated 20 A continuous with a 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC, it handles high-fault-current panels without cascading upstream. The 690 V rated voltage covers 480/575 V installations. Screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept solid conductors up to 2x 16 mm² or stranded up to 2x 50 mm².
Mounting and integration
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. Dimensions: 70 mm wide, 165 mm high, 174 mm deep — zero clearance needed at sides or rear, so it packs tight in a panel. Any mounting position. Finger-safe touch protection and IP20 on the front keep live parts covered during maintenance.
Breaking capacity and environmental limits
Breaking capacity drops with voltage: 100 kA at 240 V and 400 V, 30 kA at 500 V, 12 kA at 690 V. Operating temperature -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport -50 to +80 °C. Shock rated 25g / 11 ms. Power dissipation 21 W hot, 7 W per pole.
Lifecycle and compliance
Listed as current production. RoHS compliance date 07/01/2006. No ground-fault or phase-failure detection built in. Auxiliary switch extension possible. Operating frequency max 15 operations per hour at AC-3.
