SIRIUS 3RV1421-0CA10 — transformer-protection motor starter protector
The 96 mm depth and 97 mm height fit standard enclosure layouts, with 0 mm projection at the back or sides — no extra clearance needed behind the rail. IP20 on the front and finger-safe touch protection meet the basic panel-access requirements.
The 0.25 A continuous current rating is the load-side limit for transformer primary protection — sized for a small control transformer, not a motor. Breaking capacity of 100 kA at 400 V AC (and at 240 V, 500 V, 690 V) is unusually high for a 0.25 A device — this part is designed for high-fault-current installations where the available short-circuit current at the transformer primary exceeds typical MCCB ratings. The 6 kV surge voltage resistance confirms it handles switching transients on the line side. The 15 operations per hour maximum at AC-3 duty is a switching-life limit, not a thermal limit; for transformer protection the switching frequency is typically far lower.
Mounting and wiring integration
Accepts solid or stranded conductors: 2× (1…2.5 mm²) or 2× (2.5…6 mm²), and finely stranded with core-end processing to the same cross-sections. AWG 14–10 for the main contacts. Any mounting position is permitted — no derating for horizontal or inverted orientation. The auxiliary switch extension (Product Extension Auxiliary Switch: Yes) means a 3RV19 series auxiliary switch block can be added on the side for remote status indication or interlocking — useful when the breaker feeds a transformer whose secondary supplies critical control power.
RoHS compliance date is 01.05.2012, meeting the EU RoHS exemption timeline for industrial equipment. Shock resistance rated at 25g / 11 ms — suitable for panel mounting in machinery subject to vibration.
