SIRIUS motor-protection circuit breaker
The Siemens 3RV2011-0BA15-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker, designed for motor protection with CLASS 10 trip characteristics — meaning it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current, matching the thermal curve of standard induction motors during startup. Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V AC — that's a 100 kA SCCR across the common industrial voltage bands, so it can interrupt fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream breakers. Phase failure detection is built in; it will trip on loss of any phase, preventing single-phasing damage to the motor.
Mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715 — the 45 mm width and 97 mm depth fit a standard motor starter combo footprint alongside a SIRIUS contactor. Mounting position is any orientation; clearance requirements: 50 mm upward, 50 mm downward, 30 mm to the side, 0 mm forward and backward — tight panel layouts are fine as long as side clearance is respected. Main circuit terminals accept 2×(0.5…1.5 mm²) or 2×(0.75…2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, screw-type.
