Motor Protection Circuit Breaker, 100 kA at 400 V
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-0CA40 is a motor protection circuit breaker in Size S00, designed to protect motors against overload and short-circuit. Its 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC means it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without upstream fuses or cascading failures — a key spec for panel SCCR compliance. The Trip Class 10 rating means it trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting, which covers standard induction motor starts without nuisance tripping.
Mounting and Integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The S00 frame takes 45 mm width on the rail — a single module slot. Any mounting position is permitted. Clearance: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm at the sides, 0 mm forward or backward from the enclosure wall. Main circuit connections use ring cable lugs with M3 screws; screwdriver shaft diameter 5–6 mm, tip size 2 or Pozidriv 2.
Operating Conditions and Protection
Rated for an operating temperature range of -20 to +60 °C with temperature compensation across that span. Storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. Phase failure detection is built in; ground fault detection is not included. The maximum switching rate at AC-3 duty is 15 operations per hour.
