What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV2011-0DA15-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed to protect motors against overload and short circuit in a single device. Its Class 10 trip characteristic means it clears overloads quickly enough to protect standard induction motors during start-up without nuisance tripping. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on the line side will trip the breaker and prevent single-phasing damage. Rated for voltages from 20 to 690 V, it delivers a symmetrical breaking capacity of 100 kA at 400 V AC — enough to handle high-fault-current panels without needing upstream fuses or a current-limiting transformer. That 100 kA rating holds at 240 V, 500 V, and 690 V as well, giving you consistent fault clearance across common industrial supply voltages.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715. The 45 mm width means it takes up a single modular slot in a typical enclosure — a standard footprint for this class of motor protection breaker. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm to the sides, zero forwards or backwards, so you can pack breakers tight against the back panel or enclosure door. Main circuit connections use screw-type terminals accepting 2x 0.5–2.5 mm² solid or stranded. Auxiliary contact ratings: 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 120/125/230 V, and 0.15 A at 60 V — enough for a PLC input or a status lamp. The breaker can be mounted in any position, which simplifies layout in tight cabinets.
Environmental limits
Operating temperature range -20 to +60 °C with temperature compensation active across that span. Storage and transport range -50 to +80 °C. The compensation keeps the trip curve stable regardless of ambient heat inside the panel.
