The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-0DA25-ZW96 is a motor protection circuit breaker in size S00, designed to protect a motor branch circuit against overload and short-circuit in a single device. It carries a CLASS 10 trip characteristic, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — the standard for protecting standard induction motors during start-up without nuisance tripping on normal acceleration. Rated operational current is 0.32 A, with an adjustable thermal overload release range that covers the motor full-load current. The magnetic short-circuit release responds at 4.2 A, providing instantaneous protection against bolted faults. Breaking capacity is a flat 100 kA across the full voltage range from 240 V through 690 V AC, so it clears high-fault-current events without cascading upstream — a key spec for panels with high available fault current. Termination is via spring-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits, which speeds panel wiring and eliminates the need for periodic screw-torque checks. The breaker ships with factory-installed transverse auxiliary switches (1 NO + 1 NC) for remote status indication or interlocking. Snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715 is standard for the S00 frame.
Fit and integration notes
The S00 frame shares the same 45 mm width and 97 mm depth as the standard 3RV2011 base variants. It snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail and occupies the same panel footprint as the screw-terminal versions (3RV2011-0AA10) or ring-lug version (3RV2011-0AA40). The spring-terminal variant (this one) differs only in the connection method — no change to mounting, spacing, or auxiliary wiring layout. Phase failure detection is built in, so the breaker will trip on loss of one phase — required for motor protection under IEC 60947-4-1. The handle provides a visible break position for lockout/tagout. Side-by-side mounting is zero-gap on both sides, saving rail space in dense panels.
