Motor Protection Circuit Breaker for 400 V Panels
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-0JA25 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed for the main current circuit, with spring-loaded terminals and a CLASS 10 trip characteristic. That CLASS 10 rating means it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal start-up. Mounting is via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any position. The 45 mm width (three module spaces) and 97 mm depth fit standard distribution boards and motor control center buckets.
Breaking Capacity and Fault Coordination
Rated breaking capacity is 100 kA at 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V. That SCCR rating means the breaker can safely interrupt a fault current up to 100 kA without welding contacts or cascading failure upstream — critical for panel selectivity studies where the available fault current exceeds 50 kA. Phase failure detection is built in. If one phase drops out on a three-phase motor, the breaker trips — preventing single-phasing damage. Ground fault detection is not included, so for ground-fault protection you'd add a separate GFCI module or residual current device downstream.
