What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV2011-0JA25-ZW96 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker. It combines a circuit breaker and overload relay in one unit, with Trip Class 10 protection. Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 240 V and 400 V, so it can handle high-fault-current scenarios without cascading upstream — a solid pick for panels downstream of a large transformer or in a high-SCCR installation. It also includes phase failure detection, so if one leg drops out, the breaker opens before the motor single-phases and cooks the winding.
Mounting and terminals
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. Any mounting position is allowed, which gives flexibility in tight cabinets. The main circuit uses spring-loaded terminals — no screwdriver needed for the power wires, just strip and push. Accepts 2 x 0.5 to 2.5 mm² solid or stranded. Dimensions are compact: 45 mm wide, 97 mm deep, 106 mm tall. That 45 mm width is a single module on the rail — leaves room for other breakers or contactors in the row. Clearance to adjacent devices: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm to the side, zero forward and backward — so you can pack them tight front-to-back.
Environmental and aux ratings
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, with temperature compensation active across that span — so the thermal trip curve stays accurate whether the panel is in a cold warehouse or a hot machine room. Storage and transport range extends from -50 to +80 °C. Auxiliary contact ratings: 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 120/125/230 V, 0.15 A at 60 V. For the main circuit, short-circuit protection coordination uses gL/gG fuses rated 10 A at 500 V and 690 V. Rated operational voltage spans 20 to 690 V AC.
