What this breaker is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-0KA25-ZX95 is a motor protection circuit breaker in size S00, designed to protect three-phase induction motors up to 1.25 A operational current. It combines a thermal overload release (CLASS 10 trip class) with a magnetic short-circuit release set at 16 A. The spring-type terminals accept solid or stranded copper up to 4 mm² — no screw torque to verify, which saves time on a panel build. The integrated transverse auxiliary switch (1 NO + 1 NC) gives a status signal back to the PLC or safety relay without needing a separate contact block.
Breaking capacity — 100 kA across the board
Rated breaking capacity holds at 100 kA from 240 V all the way up to 690 V AC. That means this breaker can sit upstream of a motor starter without worrying about cascading failure under a bolted fault — the SCCR headroom covers most industrial supply transformers. The 20...690 V rated operating voltage range lets it run on 400 V or 480 V distribution without a different variant.
Panel integration and mounting
Size S00 snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715. The spring terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (0.5...4 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (0.5...2.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrule. No screwdriver needed for the power connections — strip to 8 mm, push the spring, insert the wire. The auxiliary switch terminals are also spring-loaded, same strip length. Side-by-side mounting at 0 mm spacing is allowed; no derating required for the 100 kA rating when ganged.
Compliance and documentation
RoHS compliant per the substance prohibition date of 10/01/2009. The SIRIUS 3RV series carries UL/CSA/CE/IEC certifications standard for motor-protective circuit breakers. The manufacturer provides a declaration of conformity and a full datasheet with time-current curves for coordination studies.
