Motor-protection circuit breaker, 3RV2011-1AA15-ZW97
The Siemens 3RV2011-1AA15-ZW97 is a SIRIUS-brand motor-protection circuit breaker designed for motor protection duty. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, so it drops into any standard panel rail without adapters. Trip Class 10 means it trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current — the standard for protecting standard induction motors during locked-rotor starts. Phase-failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on the line side trips the breaker instead of letting the motor single-phase and burn. Breaking capacity is 100 kA at 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V — that is high enough to sit downstream of a transformer or a large bus without requiring a current-limiting upstream device in most industrial installations.
Panel fit and wiring
Dimensions are 97 mm deep, 45 mm wide, 97 mm tall. The 45 mm width is a single modular unit, so it occupies one 45 mm slot on the DIN rail. Clearance: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm at the side — plan the enclosure depth to accommodate the 97 mm body plus wiring space. Main circuit terminals accept screw-type connections: 2× (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded. Torque to M3 for the main contacts. Mounting position is any — vertical, horizontal, upside-down — no derating needed for orientation.
