What It Is and What It Does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-1FA10-ZW96 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed for protecting three-phase induction motors against overload and short-circuit. It is part of the SIRIUS series, a modular family of industrial control gear. CLASS 10 trip characteristic; phase failure detection is built in. The breaker offers a breaking capacity of 100 kA at 400 V and 500 V, and 4 kA at 690 V. At 240 V it also holds 100 kA. This high interrupting rating means it can safely clear a bolted fault on a high-capacity distribution bus without upstream fuses or breakers needing to cascade.
Mounting and Panel Integration
Mounts via screw fixing or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. Width is 45 mm (one standard modular unit), depth 97 mm, height 97 mm. Mounting position is any, so it fits tight enclosures without derating for orientation. Required clearances: 50 mm above and below the device, 30 mm to the side, zero forward or backward. These are the minimums for arc flash containment and thermal dissipation — a panel builder should respect them, especially when ganging multiple breakers. Terminals are screw-type for the main current circuit, accepting 2×(0.75–2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2×4 mm². The main contact screws are M3. This is standard for panel wiring up to the breaker's rated current.
Lifecycle and Sourcing Reality
Lifecycle stage is current; no end-of-life notice on record. For a BOM freeze or a line-down replacement, the current-production status means you can spec it into new panels without worrying about near-term obsolescence. The supply channel is standard for SIRIUS components: sourced on request, with pricing and lead time confirmed at quote time.
