The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-1FA40 is a motor protection circuit breaker rated for 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V, 480 V, and 500 V — that's the short-circuit current it can safely interrupt without welding contacts or cascading upstream. Trip Class 10 means it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting, which is the standard for standard-duty motor starts (pumps, fans, conveyors). Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost leg on a three-phase motor will trigger a trip rather than letting the motor single-phase and burn.
Mounting and footprint
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715. The body is 45 mm wide, 97 mm deep, 97 mm tall — a compact 45 mm module that fits a standard 45 mm slot on a DIN rail panel. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above and below for arc venting, 30 mm to the side, zero forward or backward clearance needed. Any mounting position is allowed, so vertical or horizontal rail orientation works.
Fuse backup and ratings
For applications requiring a backup fuse upstream, the maximum permitted gL/gG fuse rating is 32 A at 400 V and 500 V, dropping to 25 A at 690 V. The maximum switching frequency in AC-3 duty is 15 operations per hour. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C.
