The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-1GA10-0BA0 is a motor protection circuit breaker in Size S00, designed to protect motors against overload and short-circuit. It's a current-production part, Trip Class 10, meaning it trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a stall or locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starts.
Breaking capacity and back-up fuses
Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V AC and 500 V AC, dropping to 6 kA at 690 V AC. That 100 kA at 400 V is the number that matters for most industrial panels — it means the breaker can safely interrupt a fault up to that level without upstream fuses needing to clear first, as long as the available fault current at the panel doesn't exceed it. For higher-voltage 690 V circuits, the 6 kA rating still covers typical downstream faults. When a higher interrupting rating is needed upstream, the spec calls for back-up fuses: gG 50 A at 400 V, gG 40 A at 500 V, gG 35 A at 690 V.
Motor power and phase-loss protection
Rated motor power at 230 V is 1.5 kW, which gives a quick sizing reference for smaller three-phase motors. The breaker includes phase failure detection — if one phase drops out, it trips before the motor overheats from single-phasing. That's a standard feature on SIRIUS motor-protection breakers and saves adding a separate phase-loss relay.
Mounting and clearances
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any orientation. The Size S00 footprint is 45 mm wide, 97 mm deep, 97 mm tall. For thermal management in a closed panel, maintain at least 50 mm clearance above and below, 30 mm to the sides, and zero forwards or backwards — that keeps the breaker's self-heating from derating adjacent devices.
Terminals and wiring
Main current circuit uses screw-type terminals, M3 size. Accepts 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2× 4 mm². Use a Pozidriv size 2 screwdriver with a 5 to 6 mm diameter shaft. The terminal layout is standard for the S00 frame — no surprises for a panel builder familiar with the SIRIUS range.
