What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-1GA15-0BA0 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed to protect three-phase motors against overload and short-circuit. It is rated for motor protection (Class 10 trip curve) and includes phase failure detection, so it will trip if one phase drops out — a common failure mode that can single-phase a motor and burn it out. Breaking capacity is 100 kA at 400 V AC, which means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without cascading upstream — typical for industrial panel feeders where available fault current is high. At 690 V AC the rating drops to 4 kA, so verify the available fault current at your supply voltage.
Mounting and integration
Fastens with screws or snaps onto a 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715. Dimensions are 97 mm deep, 45 mm wide, 97 mm high — a compact footprint that fits a standard 45 mm-wide DIN slot. Mounting position is any, so it works in horizontal or vertical panel layouts. Clearance: 50 mm upwards and downwards, 30 mm to the side — enough for wiring access and heat dissipation. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. The terminal screw size is M3.
