Motor protection circuit breaker, 45 mm width, 100 kA SCCR
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-1HA10-ZW96 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed for protecting three-phase induction motors against overload and short-circuit. It occupies a 45 mm wide footprint on a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with screw and snap-on mounting. The Trip Class 10 rating means it trips within 10 seconds at a locked-rotor current of 7.2x the thermal setting, matching the typical heating curve of standard induction motors. The 100 kA rated short-circuit breaking capacity at 400 V (also 100 kA at 240 V) lets it handle high available fault currents common in industrial distribution panels. At 500 V the breaking capacity is 42 kA, and at 690 V it is 4 kA. The part detects phase failure as standard, with no ground-fault detection built in. Rated voltage covers 20 to 690 V AC. Motor horsepower ratings: 0.33 hp at 110/120 V, 1 hp at 230 V, 2 hp at 200/208 V and 220/230 V, 5 hp at 460/480 V. At 480 V the continuous current rating is 8 A; at 600 V it is also 8 A. The maximum switching frequency at AC-3 duty is 15 operations per hour. The backup fuse ratings for this breaker: gL/gG 50 A at 400 V, gL/gG 40 A at 500 V, and gL/gG 35 A at 690 V. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, with temperature compensation active across the same span. Storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C.
Mounting and clearances
Mounts in any position on a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, using both screw and snap-on fastening. Minimum clearance requirements: 50 mm upwards, 50 mm downwards, 30 mm at the sides, and zero forwards or backwards — so it can sit flush against a panel backplate or enclosure door. Terminals are screw-type for the main current circuit, accepting 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x 4 mm². Main contact screws are M3. The overall dimensions are 97 mm high, 45 mm wide, and 97 mm deep.
