What this part is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV2011-1HA15-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed to protect three-phase motors against overload and short circuit. Its CLASS 10 trip characteristic means it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starting inrush. The breaker includes phase failure detection, so a lost phase on the line side will trip the load before single-phasing damages the winding. Rated operating voltage spans 20 to 690 V AC, with a short-circuit breaking capacity of 100 kA at both 240 V and 400 V. At 480 V the rated current is 8 A, and at 600 V it is also 8 A. The motor horsepower rating is 1 hp at 230 V. These ratings mean the breaker can be used on a 480 V line feeding a small motor — say a 1 hp pump or conveyor — and still clear a bolted fault upstream without the main fuse needing to open.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The 45 mm width (three 17.5 mm modules) fits standard DIN-rail enclosures. Mounting position is any — vertical, horizontal, or flat — so panel layout is flexible. Clearance requirements: 50 mm upward and downward, 30 mm at the side. Main contact terminals accept M3 screws and 2× (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. Auxiliary contact ratings: 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 120/125/230 V, 0.15 A at 60 V.
