Motor protection circuit breaker, S00 frame, 8 A — what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens 3RV2011-1HA25-ZW96 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker in the S00 frame, designed to protect three-phase motors against overload and short circuit in a single device. Its CLASS 10 trip class means it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the set current — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starting inrush. The adjustable overload release covers 5.5 to 8 A (set by the dial), and the fixed magnetic short-circuit release responds at 104 A, so it clears a bolted fault before the contactor or cable sees damage. Breaking capacity is 100 kA at 240 V AC and 400 V AC, dropping to 42 kA at 500 V AC and 6 kA at 690 V AC. At 400 V — the most common industrial distribution voltage — that 100 kA SCCR means this breaker can be used on high-fault-capacity panels without needing a current-limiting fuse upstream, as long as the panel SCCR is coordinated. The spring-type terminals accept 0.5…2.5 mm² solid or stranded, and the unit snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715.
Panel integration — S00 footprint and auxiliary contacts
The S00 frame measures 45 mm wide × 90 mm high × 75 mm deep, with snap-on mounting to 35 mm DIN rail. The spring-type terminals reduce wiring time compared to screw terminals — strip length 8 mm, no re-torquing needed. The integrated transverse auxiliary switch block (1 NO + 1 NC) provides status feedback to a PLC or indicator lamp without an add-on module.
